I love the beautiful tunes of Steve Miller aka Afterlife which are mostly downtempo and balearic. I found that his Abraxas (not to be confused with the also amazing Abraxas by Santana) was the perfect backing track for my lyrics*. I hope you like it and please listen to the tune without the words too!

*my lyrics: in this song, and many others, the lyrics are no doubt influenced by the wonderful words of Prem Rawat. If any are word for word similar it is accidental. Nothing is deliberately copied, although the last verse was directly copied from Emily Dickinson's poem, as indicated in the song. As someone once said, "Nothing is new under the sun".

HOPE
1
Hope is the sun shining brightly
Shining the whole day through
And though it doesn’t seem that way
It’s shining all night too
2
Storms and showers obscure it
But the sun still shines on
In deep dark desperate hours
Hope can be relied upon
3
Hope is the seedling dependent
On warmth and wetness to come
It won’t miss the magic moment
To push towards the sun
4
Sometimes it’s perspiration
Glistening on the brow
Telling us perseverance makes
Life taste better somehow
5
Artists, poets, musicians
Try hard to express hope
Here from Emily Dickinson
Is a quite exquisite quote:
6
"Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all."
