Bring It On Home

I remember lying in bed in the mid-50s listening to the trains chugging through Church & Oswaldtwistle station in the early morning. At 5:55 a.m. the clatter of clogs on cobbles drowned them out as the cotton spinners hurried to work at Victoria mill. But at 6:00 a.m. all went muffled again and I'd listen to the trains until I felt it safe to get up without annoying my parents when I got the coal stove ready to light. So for me, when I first heard the Sonny Boy Williamson version of this song a few years later, this track was all about the train sound. I've since realised it's a fine love song too and I hope you enjoy my copy.

Composers

USA Sonny Boy Williamson (1912-1965) - Vocals and blues harp on the version that I have copied

BRING IT ON HOME

Baby, baby
I'm gonna bring it on home to you

I done bought my ticket, I got my load
Conductor hollered, "All aboard!"
Take my seat and ride way back
And watch this train move down the track

Baby, baby
I'm gonna bring it on home to you

I think about the good times I once have had
Soul got happy, my heart got glad
I think about the way you love me too
You can bet your life, I'm coming home to you
I'm gonna bring it on home, now
I'm gonna bring it on home, now
I'm gonna bring it on home, now
Gonna bring it on home
Bring it on home to you
